House Rules & Guidelines

At Fresh Start Housing, our house rules are designed to ensure a safe, respectful, and structured living environment for all residents. By following these guidelines, we foster a community based on accountability, mutual respect, and shared responsibility.

Respect & Conduct

No Violence or Aggression – Acts of aggression, threats, violence, or physical altercations toward residents, visitors, or management are strictly prohibited.
No Weapons – Weapons of any kind are not allowed on the property, for both residents and visitors.
No Disruptive Behavior – Loud music, television, or conversations that may disturb others—especially late at night—must be avoided. No bullying, name-calling, or harassment is tolerated.
Privacy & Dignity – Nudity in shared spaces is strictly prohibited.

Cleanliness & Shared Responsibilities

Maintain Clean Living Spaces – Residents are responsible for keeping personal and shared spaces clean and organized.
Housekeeping Duties – Each resident will have assigned daily housekeeping tasks for common areas and must notify management once completed.
Respect Shared Spaces – Sleeping in common areas is not permitted.
Dishes & Kitchen Use – All dishes must be washed immediately after use. If soaking is required, they must be cleaned within an hour.

Sobriety & Accountability

Mandatory Meeting Participation – All residents must actively attend AA or NA meetings and have a sponsor as a condition of residency.
No Alcohol or Drugs – Alcohol, drugs, and any mood-altering substances are strictly prohibited. Violations will result in immediate removal.
Relapse & Rule Violations – A relapse or breaking house rules may lead to suspension or eviction. Residents must collect their belongings before they are donated.
Mandatory Reporting – Any resident aware of drug or alcohol use, illegal activities, or violations must report them to management. Failure to do so may result in termination of residency.

Financial & Attendance Responsibilities

Rent & Payments – Rent must be paid in full and on time. Late payments will incur a $50 fee until the balance is paid. Late fee $50 is a monthly one-time fee. Any payment issues must be discussed with management at least two weeks in advance.
Mandatory House Meetings – House meetings are required unless work prevents attendance. Residents must inform management at least two hours in advance if they cannot attend.

Visitors & Property Guidelines

Guest Policy – Visitors are allowed.
Vehicle Rules – Each resident may have one registered vehicle on the property, which must have valid insurance, registration, and a driver’s license on file.
Personal Belongings – Residents and visitors are solely responsible for their own items. Management is not liable for lost, stolen, or damaged property.
Theft Policy – Theft of house property or another resident’s belongings will result in immediate removal and legal action

General House Rules

Internet Access – Wi-Fi is provided as an amenity but is not guaranteed. Misuse may result in restricted or revoked access.
Quiet Hours – Begin at 10 PM. Music, TV, and conversations must be kept at a low volume.
No Smoking Indoors – Smoking is allowed only in designated areas outside.
Entertainment Use – Video games may not be played on the living room TV if other residents prefer to watch television.
Extended Absences – Residents may not leave for more than two consecutive days without prior approval from management.
Confidentiality – House-related matters must remain private and not be discussed outside the home, except with a sponsor or management.
